New Year Eve 2011

Happy Saturday! Dear's mum birthday falls on 30th December, the day before X'mas eve. I booked a reservation @ Seafood Paradise (Defu lane outlet) for dinner. We picked uncle up from work before we head there. The restaurant was pretty crowded that day, probably due to last day of work in 2011! Its pretty nestled in an industrial area so parking wise is free.

Went to stock up more new designs @ Kissjane before i headed down to Millenia Walk waiting for dear to end work.

Casual outfit of the day: Mandarin Collar Romper (Love the prints!)
I have been wearing this pair of flats so frequently and its still in perfect condition despite wearing it for 8 months! I have to admit Taiwan shoes are made in really good quality and its blister free! Glad that i bought this similar design in nude too. Remember to stock up more shoes if you are heading Taipei anytime soon! Its really worth the monies spent.

Happy Birthday Auntie!
Got her a Paris Hilton Perfume for her birthday gift as her current perfume is finishing, so yup, just in time for CNY!

Dear loves her mummy so much that he always never fails to pick her mum home whenever she headed to Bugis for shopping or to Punggol for Mahjong. So filial right? haha!

Family shot together with his younger bro

Finally the food is here!

Mee Goreng
(very spicy and its damn shiok!)

Thai Style Beancurd with Mango Salad

Fried Prawns

Crispy Chicken

Egg White with Scallop on Broccoli

Fried Mee Suan
Not value for money and its isn't nice either, the coffeeshop near my house can cook much better than this! >:(

Last dish - Creamy Butter Crab (Taste very rich!)
I love to dip my mantous with the sauce, so addictive!

The mantou size is much bigger as compared to House of Seafood.

New Year Eve was spent with bf, Denise and Edmund @ Clarke Quay.

Denise booked a reservation @ Dolly Kitchen @ Shanghai Dolly but we were told that our reservation wasn't indicated which made Denise and Edmund really mad about this and all the tables are fully booked. Sigh~

We settled down @ one of the Japanese restaurant named Tomo Izakaya.
The whole restaurant is built in a traditional seating way whereby we are seated on the floor. First time visiting this restaurant and i doubt we will be coming back again as the varieties doesn't suit our preference. Still prefer Sushi-Tei or MOF!

Edmund and Denise

Flipping through the menu 3-4 times but still had no idea what to eat so we asked the waiter for more recommendations! I must say their staff are pretty enthusiastic.

Group picture!

California Maki

Cheese & Ham sticks

Beef Bento

Salmon Bento
(The salmon is very thinly sliced, not generous as compared to Sushi-Tei)

Overall, the food wasn't as amazing and tasty. The food was a little over-priced based on the amount they served. I will never go back again for dinner definitely. This restaurant scores well for its ambience but not for its varieties of food and standard in my opinion.

Later part of the day, we strolled around Clarke Quay to settle down to chill and waiting for the clock to strike 12am for countdown of 2012!

Almost all the tables are taken or fully booked! Sigh! :(
We settled down at Forbidden City in the end and unfortunately we didn't get a pretty good view to view the performance. We ordered 1 jug of Heineken and Tiger Beer respectively.

Received Uncle William message that he will be at Clarke Quay in charge of everything and guess what, in just less than 30 minutes after we settled down, we spotted him already! Uncle William never fails to share with us lots of stories that he get to experience and warned us to be careful of our belongings and stay away from ChinaOne that day.

Finally, we get to see him in his uniform! :D

More beer for us!

This is extremely funny. We asked the guy who is sitting beside us to take a group picture for us and ended up, he thought that we wanted a picture of him! So....he initiate to take a picture of himself. -.-"
haha! I can't help but to keep on laughing non-stop! :P

Ordered Po Pian and fries to go with our beer. Shiok!

Edmund suggest to take a group picture by ourselves instead

We were given this balloon and there's colorful lights in it, it will light up when you hit two balloons at the same time! :D

Props for counting down given by Forbidden City. Cool~

Didn't really get to see what is the performance is about as its too crowded and the view from our table isn't ideal as well. Below are some photos i managed to capture despite the crazy crowd! :)

Have a blessed 2012 ahead! :)

The next day we headed over to Chinatown for the streets light up!

Outfit of the day: Kell Striped Blouse in Magenta/Green from #137

We parked our car at Chinapoint and the whole shopping mall is under renovation. Extremely inconvenient and the whole area is so packed that day.

We always visit this stall for our dinner and as usual we had Claypot Frog porridge.
The coffeeshop was filled to the brim that day and it took us quite a while before we found a table for the 5 of us! We also ordered additional dishes, raw fish and Tao hu and BBQ chicken wings!

The raw fish is extremely fresh and there is no fishy smell at all. A must try dish @ only $3.70!

We chose the dried chili favour

The chicken wings was pretty oily, too fattening.

This stall is certainly a place to come for porridge especially frog leg porridge! The food is really worth it and if you are unable to find a table, there's more seats upstairs! :)

Have a great weekend! Previews for the next collection will be up soon! :)
Stay tuned! xoxo

Much love,
Jamie
